3:30 AM

is when we heard knocking coming from aimi lark's door in her room...
I would have let her knock or put her back in bed but Jake so sweetly brought her to bed w/us but little did we know she thought it was MORNING! she did all her morning routine and it is now 530am and Jake left for work and I am toast and put her back to bed! She hasn't made a peep so maybe her body realized "hey I'm still tired" but only time will tell...(just a picture to remind everyone how cute she is... this was at my mom's when we had Christmas...check out the fake smile she gave me when I asked her to smile for the picture)

Some added bed time fun:
Yesterday I heard her playing in her room (like she does before her nap) and I went to open the door to check on her and realize it is LOCKED! Aimi Lark is oblivious to this because to her she is always locked in her room (we have thick carpet and she cannot open the bedroom door) I call Jake and he tells me how to unlock it. I can't unlock it any of those ways but I am finally able to get Aimi Lark to turn the handle to unlock it. I go in her room and put her back in bed and she takes a great 3 hour nap.

Last night Jake was gone helping someone move and I was here eating a bowl of cereal and watching an OFFICE re-run when I had this sudden feeling to go check on Aimi Lark (I love those feelings!) When I went to open her door I realized I couldn't open it because something was in front of it... that something was my sweet Aimi Lark. She was sleeping in front of the door with her new purple koala(that is a stuffed animal w/baby/pillow/blanket all in one!) from Aunt Ashley. It just made me smile as I picked her up and put her back in bed.On a happy side note it is now 7:33AM and both girls are sleeping!

  3. They are so sweet together it seems. That's so nice. and I hate when Lizzy wakes up way early thinking it's time to get up. It seems that happens on the nights I stay up particularly late.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
