some of Aimi Lark's cuteness

She is now obsessed with kissing "owies" and will have you kiss about 20 on her and then kiss 20 on you. Jake asked me if we might make her into a hypochondriac and I told him no...silly Jake.

She will at random times say "on pray" (I want to pray) and fold her arms and bow her head for me to pray with her. She did this the other day in the truck when I was in a rush and had the music up and was singing. I turned the radio off and prayed with her. She said "on pray"about five more times and I prayed for different things each time and I guess after that she was satisfied because I had prayed for everything she wanted me to in those five different prayers. (that or she didn't like the song on the radio and liked me having to turn it off every time to pray)

She loves to brush her teeth and especially loves her electric hello kitty toothbrush she got for Christmas.

She is obsessed with washing her hands. She will was her hands 20 times a day for an hour at a time if you let her. After she washes them she dries them off on the towel in the bath room and then as she walks away she shakes her hands off (I guess we have done this before)

Along the lines of her obsession with hygiene she LOVES baths! She loves to bathe herself and does a good job at it (with our help) and the hot water does not phase her one bit!

She loves to run her wiggle car into the cabinets in the kitchen really fast (she is doing that as I type this)

She loves to play XBOX with her daddy. She likes her DVD of ELMO and will say "eh mo" but I do wish I could get her to watch it for more than 2 minutes at a time. I know that when she DOES finally like TV I will want the opposite but for now some TV time would be nice so I could take a shower.

She loves to help take care of Mali Su. She will kiss her, feed her, love on her, and torture her.

She will say "MOMMY" over and over all day long until I say "yes Aimi Lark" or "what" and then she will speak to me in her own language and I say "OK."

Comments

  1. I read in an ensign article, that this mom said "yes" to her children, instead of "what" so they would have a more positive feeling in their house. My child will say mom mom mom, all day long if I say yes. He will only stop saying mom, if I say what. Yes does not make for a positive feeling in our house, because I go crazy unless I say what and get a break from the constant mom repetition.

  5. Aimi Lark looks like a mission control wizard! I remember the days of having the word, "mom" repeated an infinite time.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
