Thank you!

to all who have helped me to become even MORE excited than I even knew possible about our baby boy!!!

My mom and Richard ordered new car seats for the kids today and that has me excited!
Ashley called me the day we found out we were having a boy to tell me how cute the clothes at Costco were for little boys (and I do agree!)

My mom called to ask me what color blue (I like navy) I liked for a blanket someone is making!

My cousin Coty sent me a website with amazing bedding that I love looking at for a little boy!

I have never done the nursery thing or the shopping to decorate for a baby thing but this time around I am getting excited for it! The idea of putting the girls together in one room with a "girly" motif and our baby boy in another room with a "boy" theme makes me so excited!

and one final announcement is our baby boy's name!!!
Malachi Wes Shillig

Malachi (My messenger) is a name that my mom presented us with when we were pregnant with Mali Su and didn't know what we were having yet. She explained to us that in the book of Malachi in the Bible it speaks about tithing and she knows that is something that is very important to us. Jake and I both really liked the name and so when we found out we were pregnant again we still wanted to use it.

Wes is Jake's dad's initials. William Edward Shillig. Jake always wanted to use WES in a son's name and we are excited to be able to use it this time.

I know with our girls we went back and forth a ton and changed our minds just as much but with our boy we both think it has been easier to choose a name that we love.

I think that those are all my random announcements for now.

  1. Very cool name! It's cool to start making it more real by thinking of names and how you're going to decorate, I think. Would you mind sharing the name of the bedding website?

  2. Are you going to use both names like you do with the girls?

I LOVE IT! IT's a perfect name. I love how you guys choose names with SO MUCH meaning. I think that is very cool.

  3. Boys are fun. I don't know if they are easier or not. I have only had a girl for a month. But I know my boy is way more mellow than my girl, she is temperamental, and my pregnancy with her was very temperamental, Brent says she gets that from her mom. :) My son was clearly more hyper in the womb though. Potty training a boy is nice because when you are in public restrooms you don't have to touch anything! Its fantastic, I'm not looking forward to years ahead of me of taking a little girl to use a public restroom.
PS I wish someone would buy me new carseats! How lucky. I dream about super nice carseats...next time...

  6. Very fun. I Like the name!! Having had 2 boys, my advice for cute clothes is the Children's Place. They have the best church clothes for boys, and they are great clothes and last forever. There is an outlet in Park City. Target also has great clothes!!

  9. I love the name! Is he going to go by Malachi or Malachi Wes like the girls?

  10. Thanks for asking ladies :)
He will go by Malachi not Malachi Wes. We don't plan on doing the two name thing with the boys, just the girls.

  11. Great name and congrats on having a boy. How exciting is that? I will never know...lol. I can't believe you're moving to Texas, but I'm happy for you. We're just sad that you won't be there in Utah if we move back. Our girls are supposed to best friends...hehe

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
