Our church encourages us to store food, water, and funds for a rainy day.
(here is some of my year supply of canned goods, my wheat grinder and bread making supplies (thanks Marcinelle and Andrew!)
"We encourage members world-wide to prepare for adversity in life by having a basic supply of food and water and some money in savings..."
(this closet is full of things that are in boxes and bags and tupperware, somewhat random food)
I became somewhat obsessed with obtaining a year supply of food for our family and I was able to do so. I spent this morning re-organizing our food storage so that it was out of our back room where Aimi Lark is now sleeping. I filled two of our small hall closets and the one big closet in the back room. I know it may not look very organized but I am so excited about the progress I was able to make by myself with two "helpers."
(here is my wheat, drinking water (we have 55gal drums in our outside storage), and bags of other things from out LDS cannery... and even a kite :) I now just need to put the closet doors back on this closet
