our 11 day multi-state vacation comes to a close

We got up at 4am to load up and head to the Houston airport. The girls stayed in bed til the last possible minute while we got our luggage loaded and Jake ate his left-over steak and potatoes for breakfast. We made good time to the airport and even had time to stop and get the girls a couple movies for their dvd player and also some earphones. When we arrived at the airport we were so grateful to be taken over to the "special services" line where we checked in right away. We also made it through security in a flash. When we got to our gate they made an announcement that the flight was overbooked and that they needed volunteers to give up their seats. Jake was already in line to ask a question and this was the first time it was possible for us to volunteer so we did. They put us instantly on a flight to PHX where we would then take a flight from PHX to SLC on another airline. We got two $250 vouchers for future flights and were upgraded to first class. The flight to PHX was long but upon arrival to PHX we learned we had to change terminals via a shuttle and get tickets at a Delta counter and then go through security AGAIN. I started to wonder if it was worth it... It all worked out ok and luckily security had a "families" line that got us through quicker. We had some lunch at our gate and then boarded our hour flight to SLC. Jake's awesome friend, Huntzinger, picked us up again and we were so happy to be in our truck headed home. I loved our vacation so much.
It made Jake and I both excited for our future.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our vacations a SUCCESS!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
