New Year's Eve day and such

We woke up after a long night with Mali Su up fussy and running a fever. It was so sad to know she was miserable but not know what to do for her. After giving her some motrin she was finally able to sleep. We got up, got ready, and headed out to have lunch with my dad. When we arrived the girls opened their Christmas gifts from their Pa Pa and Nefi.

We had an awful eating out experience at Casa Ole' and I don't think I will ever go back. Aimi Lark loves to dip things and loves chips and salsa but the salsa here was too hot so my dad asked them for a cup of ketchup and it worked! She dipped her chips in the pseudo-salsa of ketchup and LOVED it! After lunch we came back to the house and hung out with my brothers, Tyler and Kyle, and Jake taught them to golf in the front yard. The girls also enjoyed playing outside on this trip. They are going to love having a YARD!

We left my dad's house that evening and headed back to my mom's. I expected the girls to go right to bed so we could too but no such luck. I discovered that Mali Su's left ear was draining some not so good stuff and that it must be her ear that is causing her fever. They finally went to sleep around 10:30pm and when Jake and I climbed in bed we turned on the TV and saw that it was 11:30pm New York time so we stayed up and watched the last 30 minutes of "Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve" and it was so fun because Kelly Pickler was helping host and I LOVE her! We were able to countdown together (with Mali Su feverish again between us)

and kiss at midnight NY time. We had a wonderful New Year's eve.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
