aimi lark has the sickness

Well the sickness is that she is vomitting. It is so sad!

Yesterday we went to the DMV (saved $150 on our car registration since jake is on active duty...yay!) and then to COSTCO for some groceries. While at COSTCO I could tell Aimi Lark wasn't herself (as you can see in the picture of the girls in the buggy she isn't her normal camera happy self.)
After COSTCO we dropped Jake off at school and went to the mall to return some sandles I bought for Aimi Lark that didn't fit b/c her right foot is bigger across the top than her left so sandles don't fit correctly. I also took back some skirts at Downeast Basics that I bought and they were not very nice in regards to returns. After that I loaded up the girls to go pick up Jake from school. On our way to BYU Aimi Lark still didn't seem happy so I stopped at Wendy's to get a small fry thinking maybe she was hungry. Well as I was pulling away from the window I reached back to hand her a fry and instead of taking it she just stared at me with a weird look on her face and then it came... I hurried and pulled into a parking spot and it was still coming... I jumped out to try and figure out what to do but by then it was everywhere! Jake would be out of class any minute now and I didn't have time to run home so I cleaned up her face and hands and left her strapped in the seat. Now I know you are thinking GROSS but what was I to do? If I took off her clothes and she would then be sitting naked in a vomit seat and all I had were baby wipes and they were useless against this amount of "stuff." How can a small child puke as much as three adults?? is what I kept asking myself. So we headed the half a mile to campus and I parked and began the stripping process. I stood her up on the sidewalk by the truck and stripped her and then took the car seat out of the truck only to find that there was "stuff" that had soaked down through the car seat to the truck seat. I strapped my naked baby into the front seat so I could continue to clean. Jake finally called me back and said he was out of class. I had called him about 25 times but since his class is in the basement he didn't get any of my calls... fun huh!? Jake helped me to finish cleaning things up and we headed home. When we got home we put Aimi Lark to bed and then Jake went outside to hose down the car seat and try to clean out the truck some more. Aimi Lark slept from 630pm last night until 815am this morning. All morning she has been upset and keeps pointing her finger at me and saying "muh muh muh" as if she is scolding me for her not feeling well. It is pitiful that I can see in her face and hear in her voice how awful she feels. It is so sad to feel so helpless when your babies are sick.

  2. Sad? I think it's halirous, and I don't even know how to spell that word. Usually I would have erased it and wroten something I do know how to spell, but that's too funny. HAHA. Puke everywhere. (funny in your car, not mine)

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA. I love it!

  4. Poor thing! Bless her heart! I hope she feels better soon and that no one else in the family gets it.

  5. Having a sick child is one of my least favorite things about motherhood. It's not so much the having to clean up after them (which isn't too enjoyable) but it's the fact that they're miserable and there's not much you can do to make it better. I hope she gets well soon.

  7. Aww, poor little lamb. So far we haven't had to deal with a sick baby, but he's only 5 mos old, so there's plenty of time for that. It's kind of funny that amidst all the chaos, you still had time to take pictures! What a responsible blogger! Always thinkin'.

  8. You are so good at leaving comments! I am terrible:) But thanks for your comments - I appreciate them! The doctor thought it was more likely a bone bruise - so that is what I am really hoping for. Oh, and Torre is not married but we'll see. He met this girl, Emily on his trip to Columbia. She has been here 3 months and so for now - they are just dating and seeing where it heads. Tough for her b/c she doesn't know English, can't work or drive, & is living with Torre's family. We'll see?!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
