MY LITTLE CLIMBER

SO TODAY AIMI LARK DISCOVERED SHE COULD SCALE HER TOY PIANO... WELL AFTER DISCOVERING SHE COULD GET ON TOP OF IT SHE SO ALSO DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS A HARD FALL FROM THE TOP. I HEARD HER START YELLING/CRYING SO I RAN IN AND SCOOPED HER UP AND SHE FOUND COMFORT ON MY SHOULDER. WELL AFTER A MINUTE SHE LIFTED UP HER HEAD AND THERE WAS BLOOD ALL OVER ME AND HER. HER WHOLE FACE WAS COVERED! I SAT HER ON THE COUNTER AND MY PHONE WAS THERE SO WHILE CLEANING HER AND CHECKING HER I CALLED JAKE AND THEN THE DR. JAKE CAME HOME AND WE TOOK HER IN. WHILE THERE IT STARTED BLEEDING AGAIN! IT WAS PITIFUL. THEY GAVE HER A POPCICLE AND SAID THAT IF THE BLEEDING DIDN'T STOP WE WOULD TAKE HER TO THE ER FOR STITCHES BECAUSE STITCHING UP A TONGUE REQUIRES THEM TO PUT THE BABY OUT. SO WE ARE HOME AND I JUST PUT HER DOWN FOR A NAP AND WE HAVEN'T HAD ANYMORE SIGNS OF BLEEDING SO I THINK WE ARE GOOD WITHOUT STITCHES. I KNOW THAT THE TONGUE IS MAINLY VASCULAR BUT FOR A MOM TO SEE THAT MUCH BLOOD COMING FROM THEIR BABY IS HARD TO HANDLE. JAKE WAS SO GREAT ABOUT VALIDATING MY FEELINGS OF TAKING HER TO THE DR. I EXPECTED THE SHILLIG IN HIM TO COME OUT AND FOR HIM TO SAY "SHE'S FINE" AND THAT I WAS OVERREACTING BUT I AM SO GRATEFUL HE WAS THERE TO HELP. HE EVEN TOOK ME TO LUNCH TO CALM MY NERVES.

  1. Reading this I had some memories of having a hole in the back of my throat stitched up!!! A little older, but still traumatizing. I hope it works out without the stitches!!!

  3. Welcome to the land of toddler climbing!! Just pray that she never climbs up on the counter and sticks a knife in the outlet...I am glad that she is ok, stitches are never fun.

  4. so scary! i agree that when you see a lot of blood it's scary. i would have taken her to the dr. too and my family would totally tease me about it. lol...i guess that's big families for you. i hope she feels better and is cured of her climbing, if not you have a lot of doctor visits in your future.

  5. Oh my goodness! I hope she's doing better now. I always struggle to figure out if I'm over reacting or under reacting. I can never seem to get it right!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
