Back to School, Back to School (1st and 2nd Grades)

This is how excited Mali Su was the night before school and she got up BEFORE my alarm and excitedly woke me telling me it was TIME FOR SCHOOL!
This is how I felt as I couldn't sleep (my brain was running) and spent time going over final details of the kids' clothes & backpacks.  I also did my hair and makeup thinking it would make for an easier transition the next morning, it worked!
We made it out the door within minutes.  I guess all my late night prep work helped tremendously!
I told the kids to get in a picture with me, not too bad.
Then a lady offered to take some for us.
These are my babies, I love them.  I hope they know just how hard I try and how much my heart aches when I feel I don't do right by them.  I hope they know I love them with my whole heart and that I am doing my best.  I want the best for them.
We took the girls to their classes and it was so nice already having met their teachers!

My sweet friend, Katie, sent me these back to school things for the kids.  I love it!

Mali Su is so smart and told me after school "first grade was so easy, I was just writing down all the answers so quickly!"  I had already spent the morning talking to the school about what we should do for her since last year she was in a Kindergarten and 1st grade class combined.  It seems like it will take awhile but I'm excited to make sure we are meeting her needs academically.
Aimi Lark let me know later she wants to be a doctor.  She wrote doctor on her school paper today so I guess she officially changed her mind.  She did pick out a "Doc McStuffins" backpack afterall.  She told me how they did SO MUCH MATH today.
This sweet boy asked to take a picture while waiting in the line to pick up the girls, shark too!  I can't say no to that request.  He was so calm and content in car line.  I'm excited to walk them.  I just need to pick up a stroller for Solomon.  Solomon fell asleep after the gym when we got home so I put him in his car seat to go pick up the girls and he just kept napping thankfully.

When the girls spotted our truck they just WAVED and flashed "I love you" signs.  It was so sweet!
So far I am loving their new school.  I am excited for them.  Aimi Lark came up to me twice after school and hugged me and told me "thank you for letting me go to school."
Oh my sweet girl, you can always learn!  I am so glad you love to learn!
Now tomorrow Malachi starts KINDERGARTEN!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
