Aimi Lark in Gymnastics

We let the children each choose a sport/lesson to take at the local YMCA.  Aimi Lark's classes started first out of the 4 children.  She chose gymnastics.  She does so well!  Tonight she did get a little shy/scared when it was time to do a free standing hand stand alone but she did some on the wall and then was able to do it alone.  I know she gets embarrassed easily or can shy away from things (especially heights) but she seems to be overcoming these things slowly.  She did tell me she thought the "throw your hands up at the end" gymnast pose was "weird."  That's where her get embarrassed easily attitude comes in.  I showed her some YouTube videos tonight of Olympic gymnasts and I hope that shows her that the "weird" pose is actually normal.  I never thought I'd enjoy the life of taking kids to and from, but so far I'm enjoying it and we are doing quite well with it all.
I'm finding myself excited it looks like she has her Daddy's strength and her Mother's flexibility.  I am excited for her.  I can't wait to see if she keeps it up or switches.  I am all for this being THEIR choice.
Good work, Aimi Lark!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
