Grateful for My Aimi Lark & Our Government

I got her school picture printed on a piece of paper yesterday saying, "SECOND CHANCE" to buy.  I went on their website excited to buy (even though it's not some amazing picture, but because it's a SCHOOL PICTURE).  I found that I have to pay $8 for shipping because (due to no fault of my own, thank you teacher for not turning in her money) I didn't order the first time.  So, I will just keep this (scanned) paper copy as her kindergarten school picture.  Sounds good to me.  Aimi Lark is such a good girl at school.  She comes home with a "smiley face" each day in her agenda and always does her homework.  She is doing great!  I just wish she didn't have 3 teachers in the first two months of school.
I love how excited she is each morning for school.
I love how excited she gets to do her homework.
I love how she wants to be a helper at home.
I love how much she LOVES to go on a date with me or Jake.
She loves to ask for a "family outing."
She gives great hugs.
She falls asleep quickly every night around 6 pm, exhausted from the school day.
Her hair is growing so long.
She is so tall and thin.
She acts so silly sometimes, even using a silly voice.
She has lost her first tooth and hopefully her other TWO bottom ones fall out soon.  She has an extra bottom front tooth.
She loves art.  She would paint and play with play-doh all day if I let her.
She is the cutest book reader.
She is great at all things outdoors.
I miss her so much during the day.  I take in every chance I get to sit with her, hold her, cuddle her, hug her and kiss her.  I am happy she loves school, but I miss her.  I am glad she gets all the time in the mornings and afternoons she gets with Jake.  What a great bonding time.
We love you Aimi Lark, you are such a precious girl!

After last night's election results I found myself sad, I didn't expect to be so sad.  I might have cried, twice.  President Obama was elected for a second term in office.  I think the reason I was so disappointed in the results (even though I said numerous times I thought he would win) was for the first time I was voting FOR someone, not AGAINST someone.  I was voting FOR Gov. Romney.
I thought he could do great things.  I just hope that the President can do a great many things as well.

Just one more thing President Obama.  NO MORE EXCUSES.  I don't like excuses from anyone, so just figure out how to make it work and stop blaming others.  It kills me when I hear people say, "well I didn't have a dad" or "well I grew up poor" or, you get my point.  So why should our president use excuses?  I posted on Facebook last night, "This may seem odd to say but part of me hopes the Democrats do get the house so then I can see what our President is made of without excuses. No Bush excuses, No House of Republicans excuses."

Our church published this and I agree with it:

First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles Congratulate President on Election Win

SALT LAKE CITY —
The First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued the following statement Tuesday:
We congratulate President Obama on winning a second term as President of the United States.
After a long campaign, this is now a time for Americans to come together. It is a long tradition among Latter-day Saints to pray for our national leaders in our personal prayers and in our congregations. We invite Americans everywhere, whatever their political persuasion, to pray for the President, for his administration and the new Congress as they lead us through difficult and turbulent times. May our national leaders reflect the best in wisdom and judgment as they fulfill the great trust afforded to them by the American people.
We also commend Governor Romney for engaging at the highest level of our democratic process which, by its nature, demands so much of those who offer themselves for public service. We wish him and his family every success in their future endeavors.

Here's to the future y'all, let's all work TOGETHER to make it GREAT!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
