Some Thoughts

Today my mom goes in for yet another surgery on her ankle. I asked my cousin to babysit the girls yesterday so I could get some beautifying in before picking up Jake on Saturday but now I will also be taking my mom for surgery (glad I already reserved a sitter). I hope this fixes the problem. She broke her ankle April 1.

The girls (and my car) get WAY dirtier here in TX than UT. I think it has to do with the fact that there is a TON of playing outside and grass here with very few sidewalks.

My brothers Beau and Brody will now be coming back to UT with us to stay for a month. Well til Aug. 24 when they will fly back to TX. I am so excited for them to get to spend part of their summer vacation with us!

Aimi Lark (2yrs 7mos) has a melt-down every time someone goes to the bathroom for some reason. I am still trying to figure that one out. She says "NO! -insert name- POTTY OW SIDE!" I was planning on potty training when we get back (and still do) but man I'm in for it with this one.

My girls are night owls and early birds... how does that work for me... VERY POORLY!

Malachi has started smiling when I talk to him. It somehow makes me feel more successful as a mother. I do admit sometimes I forget about him because he is SO QUIET. I walked by where he was sleeping yesterday and said "OH! I forgot you were there!" Now I don't forget forget him like leave him somewhere I just forget about him because he is content to do his own thing 90% of the time (and wants to nurse the other 10%)
I am worried about going home to the wrath of our cat Gunnie. I'm sure 5 weeks is a long time in cat time and by now we are definitely on her poo list. Good thing my wonderful sister in law Kaylene put a waterproof sheet we ordered on our bed.
Oh and by spellchecking my blog posts I realized that I make compound words out of non-compound words like "blood work."
Well off to dress kiddos, pack up, clean up, and head out for the day.

  3. Hey! Kjell here. I run the boot camp and got your response last week about the free boot camp. So are you going to be gone that the whole first week of August?
If so, just come the following week and try it out if you'd like.
    Let me know!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
