bedtime

Since we left Utah bedtime is RIDICULOUS and HARD!
I am EXHAUSTED and trying to put Aimi Lark to bed has become too much.

Tonight while sitting with her trying to get her to stay in bed and fall asleep I put my hand on my eyes/eyebrows and Aimi Lark asked "eyebrow hurt mommy?" and I said YES!

Then a bit later I told her to go to sleep very sternly and she told me "Be nice mommy"

Someday I will have my ideal... a bedroom that is just that... a bedroom and she can fall asleep on the floor, in the closet, or under her bed for all I care but for now she sleeps in her playroom with her sister so I have to keep an eye on her.

I just want her to fall asleep so I can have some "me" time...the other two are down and have been for an HOUR... chips and salsa and TV are calling my name but will have to wait til my 2.5 year old decides to sleep.

    You poor thing, bedtime whne the kids don't want it is incredibly frustrating! I'm sure it's not heling with the stress already there from not being at home. That's cute that she said those things to you though.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

 We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
