Our week thus far...

is going SO GREAT!
Monday I went and walked the mall with Larkie hoping to get some contractions going and then later that night walked with Jake and Aimi Lark after dinner/talking to Luke via oovoo. Aimi Lark LOVES talking to Luke on the computer web cam (as does Mali Su, Jordan, and of course Kaylene).
Tuesday Larkie and I went to my ward's playgroup and there learned about the aquatics center in Lehi, UT. Late Tuesday night Jake planted my herb garden in the planter on the porch while we waited for his mom to arrive from CA.
Wednesday morning Lark (my mother in law) and I loaded up the girls, picked up Larkie and Jordan(I love having a vehicle with so much room!), and headed to Provo canyon to walk the trails and let the girls play at the park. Along our walk the girls played with "rolly pollies." We took Jake to school around lunch time and headed to Lehi for lunch and the aquatics center. It was AMAZING! Aimi Lark LOVED swimming and Mali Su was as relaxed as could be. Most of this pool area was about a 1ft deep so the girls were able to move freely.

They had slides galore.

They had a big bucket over the top of a playground type equipment thing that every so often would sound a bell and then pour down TONS of water like a monsoon rain storm. Aimi Lark got caught in it once while heading to the slide and after that every time she heard the bell would yell "NO! NO! RAIN!" Mali Su and Aimi Lark both got introductions to swim lessons from their grammie Lark. She taught them to kick their legs and move their arms. We also registered them for swim lessons starting June 1 here at our complex with some great teachers so I am excited that they have an idea of swimming and really enjoyed it! We went to Wal-Mart tonight and picked up a few more items for Malachi's arrival such as onesises, socks, swaddle blankets, etc. After dinner I drank castor oil... I know you may thinking "YOU ARE CRAZY" but I am thinking "what have I got to loose?" if it works I'll have a baby boy and if it doesn't I guess my insides will be clean.

  1. MMM Castor oil...I remember it well! I did the same with Emmitt, at the end your just so desperate it doesn't even matter. LOL! Hopefully it works out better for you than it did for me w/ emmitt, I took it probably 5 different times and nothing. Love the pics, your girls are so cute! That aquatics center looks like tons of fun!

  2. I'm glad that you enjoyed the Legacy Pool - my girls loved it as well. I got dumped by the big bucket of water the first two minutes that I was in the water for the first time - I learned after that. It kind of scares Victoria, but then again, it scares me as well.

  3. oh dear! don't drink castor oil! You will not feel so great and most likely get diahrea. I have something for you if you want that baby here. I'll bring it by tomorrow - it's called blue cohosh - it's a tincture. I started taking it one night (4 days early with Brooklyn) and started contractions that night, went in at 5:30am and had her at noon. Congrats on the new vehicle! So fun!!

It looks like you gals are having TONS OF FUN!

    How are you feeling?

  5. I give a big endorsement to Anjanelle's blue cohosh! It got my labor going hard enough for my water to break..however I had to do bigger doses than Anjanelle. Sorry we missed you yesterday for VT...Alice is going out of town so maybe we'll catch you later...

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
