Some baby Malachi thoughts (at the hospital)

I have many thought swirling through my head and thought I'd document them while Malachi sleeps on my lap (and Jake is at campus for some ROTC stuff).
-He is an amazing eater. He latches on great and is a strong sucker.
-He is a noisy little one when he sleeps. He doesn't cry much but does make some interesting whimper sounds.
-Jake thinks he is awesome. It is fun to see him with a son.
-I am still adjusting to having a BOY!! It is wonderful! I had to put on the stuff we brought for him because the unisex pink and blue hat just was not working for me.
-My recovery is going amazingly well.
-I am so grateful for family and friends and their love and support.
-The girls came up to visit this morning and they were so sweet to him! Aimi Lark wanted to "open him" which meant take him out of his blankets. He is just the perfect size for them and they did great sharing holding him at first but then began to want him all to themselves. Aimi Lark did decide to become a baby again when she found Malachi's boppy (pacifier) in his bed. Jake laid with her and cuddled her.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
