Change

Now, not the "change" that Pres. Obama speaks of, but CHANGE for our family none the less.

Well for Mother's Day 2007 Jake bought me our Tundra. We had never purchased a vehicle before and my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire from high school and college had gone kaput. The truck was perfect. It fit him, a rear facing car seat behind him even with his seat all the way back, and it was PERFECT.Well fast forward 2 years and almost 2 babies later and we were beginning to feel the squeeze of three car seats in the backseat(thanks to Jordan riding with us the last few days). Jake has wanted to get a third row seat vehicle since we found out I was having baby #3 but I was not willing to change vehicles unless we were able to trade in our truck and have them pay it off. I was not willing to accept being upside down. So we put the girls down for naps and Kaylene kept an eye on them while we went to see what our local dealership could offer. We were surprised when we told them we wanted to trade in our 2007 Tundra and they came back with "I need your truck! I don't have a used new body style Tundra on the lot! We will make this work" and sure enough they did! They offered us a great price on our Tundra(paying it off) and we knew our family needed the room so it was a done deal. After about 6 hours at the dealership all was done and we walked away with our new 2008 Toyota Sequoia for my 2009 Mother's Day gift. We love the Sequoia because it is just like the truck! It fits Jake, car seats, the WORKS! We are sad at the lack of cargo room but we will get used to it.
Thank you Jacob for working so hard to provide for our family! We love you!
Here we are with our 3rd row seat vehicle after church today.

I am 36wks 4days!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
