UPDATE

We are in our current home in FL with just basics.  We put all our keep forever and move to our next location wherever it may be in the POD container.  So far so good here.
"I surrender, that means I'm on your team" is what Malachi told Solomon as he backed him into a corner with his stick/sword.

We were rear ended on the freeway 3 weeks ago and I took the truck in to get repaired and have a rental.  That was exhausting and we are all still in a lot of pain from that accident.

Jake had been going on MANY interviews here hoping for a summer internship that would then turn into a first year associate position after he took the February bar exam.  On one of those interviews with a law firm here in FL the lady said she had classmates in TX who took the bar exam during their last semester of law school.  That got Jake's brain running and he found out that AZ has a pilot program allowing students in their last semester of law school to take the bar exam.  We only had a week to submit his info by the deadline so we got busy!  We have one more section of the application to complete but we couldn't feel more blessed!  We are hoping this opens many more doors for Jake and his future career.  We don't necessarily plan to end up in AZ but having a bar card in any state makes us that much more marketable.  Another set of passport photos.  I'm thinking we all just need to keep these on hand because lately everyone needs them.

I am LOVING my weekend job at Disney.  I love getting paid to SMILE (sometimes til 4am, explains the bags under my eyes below) and even though my feet hurt at the end of my shift I leave happy.  The perks are fabulous!  The pay is minimal.  My savings account I set aside with my hair and Disney money is growing!  I hope to do something fun for our family with it.

I am finding my groove with the kids since the move.  I am excited for summer.  I miss my girls each day and long for the days that we can have more time together and flexibility in our schedules.  I am not a fan of the school year dictating our lives.  I hope to have the opportunity to home school someday but for now the girls LOVE their school and the experiences they are having.

My boys are loud and rambunctious and BOYS!  I am learning to work with them and their bouts of anger.  I am not an expert yet and still find myself at odds with them in public at times but we're getting there.  Jake tells me I'm "too nice" so I have tried to be more stern.  At Disney I felt like I made scene using my STERN voice with Malachi but after apologizing to my friend Kelley she quickly let me know she thought I needed to.  It was so reassuring to hear.  I find myself walking a thin line of thinking I'm doing ok and I could do better.  I love being a Mom and a wife and feel so rewarded in this special calling I have.  It's funny because even though I work part time doing hair and part time at Disney when I filled out a form recently I put "homemaker" as my employment still.  My side jobs do not define who I am, my eternal role as a wife and mother does.  I am grateful I feel fulfillment in that!

We have visitors coming in next week for Jake's graduation and I am so excited about that!  It will be a full house of people on cots, air mattresses, and pallets but we will make do.  Oh did you catch that!?  I said Jake's GRADUATION!  He will finally walk in a graduation ceremony.  I am so thrilled and could not be more proud of all his hard work.  Here we are the day we picked up his graduation regalia.

Well on that awesome note time to put my ragamuffins to bed.
Night, y'all!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
