Jacob Shillig Law School Graduation

Jake has worked so hard to be on that stage to receive his law degree.
He graduated high school early and before that had skipped eighth grade.

He went to BYU in 1999.
He left BYU to work and save money for his mission.
He served a mission in South America for 2 years.
He came back to BYU and shortly after was married.

He joined the Army and received an Associate degree in Mandarin.

He went back to BYU and earned a Bachelor's degree in Spanish.
He commissioned as an officer in the Army.

All the while working full time, being a husband and father, soldier and serving in his church.
He wears a lot of hats, but he wears them well!

Now on to Graduation photos!
We were so blessed to have so many supportive friends and family around us this day.
Our dear friend Marlyse came in on Wednesday.
Jake's parents on Thursday and my Mom and Brody on Friday and then Kenny Friday night.
We had a full house and I'm not sure if anyone got a full night of sleep while they were here but we made it!
Then the Pokipala family and Butlers were at the ceremony as well.  I felt bad because seating was insane so we barely saw them.

After the ceremony we headed to DAYTONA (that's where we'll be, that's where we'll be).

15 years later he is DONE with school.
Now to pass the bar and find a job...

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
