I have attended Daytona Bike week two years in a row!!!
(with out of town guests, unintentionally & in a mini-van).
The three older kids went right in the water and had a blast. We got there about two hours before closing so we were trying to make the most of it.
The girls jumped waves for what seemed like hours. They would get so excited and laugh as they were brought to shore with the wave when they fell.
Solomon never gets in the water and usually cries when I go and wade in to take pictures and leave him on dry sand. Since he doesn't usually get in and we were on a time constraint I forgot to put his swimsuit on him.
He got in the water.
His diaper filled with salt water to capacity.
Mali Su ended up with some pieces of hair in the front mysteriously cut awhile back. They had grown out really well and then as she headed out the door to school the other day I saw it. She said she didn't want bangs so she cut them off, genius.
Heidi and Jake worked their tails off catching waves.
The waves here don't seem to hold for very long so you have to be quick to get up.
I only got pictures of the boys surfing because the girls surfed as I prodded Solomon back down the beach to where we all were.
Naked (or as I say, necked) surfer, watch out!
Oh to be as free and carefree as a little child.
This bird just stood right by me, uninhibited, maybe mocking me even. He was probably the one that brought all his buddies over to poop on our car a million and a half times.
This boy.
He is a handful.
He is needy.
He is sometimes so whiny and full of fits, but when you get a moment like this...
I can't even describe how much I love that boy.
How much I love my children and being their mother.
Then after a rough night tonight after working so hard to be more like "Michelle Duggar" (she has this over the top kind voice and smiles all the time) all day long and then raising my voice to the whole house right before bed I needed to see this pictures sequence below...
Mali Su sees the birds, her target,
She runs excitedly into the flock,
They scatter and she pursues,
til she has successfully chased them away.
She does this with such excitement and joy!
I need to be more like Mali Su and attack the day with EXCITEMENT and JOY!
Hopefully in the morning I can hit the ground running like she does, like they all do.
