Night 4 (sunset sail with my Mom)

We left the kids at the hotel with Brody and hoped for the best.  He's more of a "fun" babysitter than a calm responsible one so I was worried they'd be too loud and crazy.  We got on the boat early and enjoyed the music and food and all that they provided.
We were loving it!  Mia was keeping people updated through social media on our boat.
The boat took us past Mallory Square and then out into open water.
We sailed around til we found just the right spot for the sun to set.
We danced a little (me more than Mia).
Then we just stood and enjoyed the view, the beautiful view!
When we first got on the boat my Mom was so offended by this guy with his underwear hanging out.  She felt that it was not normal in a setting like this on a guy like that.  Later on in the evening she went up to him and asked him WHY he was sagging his pants and showing his underwear.  I felt so bad for the guy!  Turns out him and his friend are here from Germany and were just imitating American culture they had seen!  I made sure to let him know I thought he looked fine so hopefully he wasn't embarrassed all night!  I had fun dancing with his friend and telling him I have good friends in Germany (what up C!?).
Seriously, best night of the trip.  I love my Mom, she's fun.

Thanks for the great night, Mia.
Even if we didn't find the dueling pianos.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
