Jake and I went on a date Thursday night and when we got home I had texts about my Uncle. After talking to my cousin I realized I should be there and Jake did too. He told me to go in the morning but I was so full of emotion and energy I left right then, around midnight. By 2AM I was getting tired. I napped for a bit and kept driving. I saw one of those little 5 hour energy things and tried it (half a bottle). It woke up my body but not my mind/eyes. I was jittery but not awake. I should add it was my first energy drink of any kind, I guess I should have tried something like a Red Bull first?
I was so happy when I saw a Whataburger, they are open 24 hours/day. I got a big ol' soda and a large order of fries to eat one by one keeping myself awake til daylight.
Once daylight came I was golden. I met my Mama at her school for a quick gumbo lunch and saw her nice school, classroom, and met some of her fellow teacher friends.
I picked up Marianne and went to the hospital where the mood was full of sadness.
My Uncle Ivan only had one artery functioning and surgery was not an option. He said he did not want a second opinion or to possibly go through the recovery of surgery so we were all saying our "good-byes."
My Uncle Ivan and Aunt Melba have 11 children so there was no shortage of people in the waiting room.
It was nice to see other family such as my Nanny (Uncle Ivan's sister) and Uncle Kurt (Ivan and Carolyn's nephew, Ronnie's son).
My family visited and so did my Mom's brother Earl's daughter, Robyn.
Kayla and Rachelle posed for me as the LDSBC (LDS Business College) girls. They both went/are going there so I wanted to share that with my niece Hailey. It's a great alternative for those who want to enjoy the Provo life but want their associates degree.
Some of us girls decided to go on an ice cream run. We were all in better spirits this day because news had changed. He was going to get to go home! He wasn't recovered and surgery isn't an option still but he wasn't going to die in the hospital as we had previously been under the impression of. What a wonderful miracle!
My Uncle Ivan baptized and confirmed me a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
My Aunt Melba (his wife) told me to submit my application to BYU even though I was applying late.
My best friend (his daughter Marianne) told me when I was scared to leave my family for BYU that I couldn't help others until I helped myself. She was right.
I love surrounding myself with happy and positive people who influence me and my family for good.
The Sellers do that, I am blessed to have them in my life.
