Some MORE Valentine's Happiness

 We had pancakes for breakfast.

Made LOTS of forts.
Finished our fancy cake we covered in sprinkles.
(Don't tell the kids but I only had 4 ounces of normal cream cheese for the frosting so I added in 2 ounces of cream cheese with chives, BUT with all that butter and powdered sugar and SPRINKLES they didn't notice and kept telling me how good it was and then that made me feel bad that their cake had ONIONS in it!  little green onions that thankfully the sprinkles covered up)
One of the blankets had a hole in it so it made the PERFECT fort WINDOW!
While they were napping I cut out TONS of hearts for them to color and make Valentine's for each other.  It was a hit!
THEN Daddy came home from law school (calling first hoping the kids were still up) to surprise the girls with gifts from him (flowers) and gifts from the boys (candy).
He's setting the bar high for those BYU boys (yes I'm brainwashing my kids to go to BYU).

Aimi Lark's reaction to getting her OWN flowers was darling, so sweet and precious.

Opening the box of chocolates from the boys took forever!
This man of mine, love him.
“I am satisfied that happiness in marriage is not so much a matter of romance as it is an anxious concern for the comfort and well-being of one’s companion. Any man who will make his wife’s comfort his first concern will stay in love with her throughout their lives and through the eternity yet to come” (Gordon B Hinckley, married 67 years)
He somehow pulls off the romantical and the concern for my well being.
When I get hurt he tells me "you're not made our of steel."
When I am sick he takes the kids on an outing and tells me to rest.
When I am sad he holds me.
When I am overwhelmed he lightens my burdens in any way he can.
When I am upset, he just lets me vent.
He says I made him this way but I know that he and I have grown together for the last 9 years.
I love my job as a wife and as a mother, I am able to be here for him just as he is for me.
I think we make a great team!

Look at this cute card my friend Katie made for Aimi Lark (pretend there is a real sucker in her hand she's holding out).  We sadly didn't hand these cute ones out but she did pass out some old-school basic ones her Daddy got on clearance last year after V-Day.
Until next year y'all...

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
