Aimi Lark comes home and tells me it's Dr. Seuss' birthday on Saturday. She was way excited. I found her and Mali Su in her room reading all the Dr. Seuss books she got for her 3rd birthday from her Grammie Lark. She's never touched them I feel like til this week. That's the power of birthdays my friend. She went to school today with all her Dr. Seuss books from her shelf and a Dr. Seuss VHS movie we have. I wrote her teacher a note, hope she doesn't mine. Aimi Lark was so excited, I just couldn't not let her. Also, her outfit today, precious. Sequin belt (that a piece of material she tied at her waist), Christmas argyle leg warmers, purple glitter shoes, and a flower headband with a jewel in the middle. I wish I had taken a picture. Once again, so cute, didn't have the heart to tone down her style.
These pictures from last week when I dropped her off will do. Watching her walk away to school just tugs at my heart a little. I wish I didn't worry so much.
A girl from my ward came over and we did P90X yesterday. The scale is creeping back up on me and I've got to stop that one dead in its tracks. YIKES! not cool. I am still doing my elliptical and love it especially now that it's in my room with a fancy "smart" TV Jake got me for our anniversary. So doing P90X or any workout DVD is SO MUCH EASIER with a friend. I did shoulders and back this morning and it was lame and felt like it took forever alone.
I like to sleep in, and by sleep in I mean around 7:30AM is about it. I get up by 6AM each day with Solomon or one of the other little darlings. Jake's alarm goes off at 6AM and our day starts with the whole house awake. I keep telling myself (for years now) that I want to be one of those Moms who gets up before her family and works out. I've NEVER done it, NEVER. I am going to try tomorrow. I shouldn't say TRY but saying I WILL DO IT requires me to get over my desire to squeeze out every drop of sleep I can get in the mornings. I'll let y'all know how it goes.
I sometimes feel myself getting antsy for the next part of our life. We still have plenty of time left in law school and I love FL, but I can't help but feel excited about planning the next step. I'm focusing all my energy right now on how much I want Jake to get this study abroad in China. I hope that somehow he could get it and make some dream contact for a job after law school. I like to dream.
I feel a major de-junking coming on. I get this way from time to time and this weekend just might be the time. I constantly get rid of stuff but I am thinking a big one. I like this idea.
I made stuffed bell peppers last night for dinner, my first time. The kids ate them. It took Malachi a second but he was fine. I was so happy! Love those little victories.
Jake's Aunt Sunni and her husband Jim came and visited us on Sunday. I love that Orlando hosts so many conferences for so many companies and we get to enjoy visitors. We did a quick catch up and meal after church.
I made "shrinky dinks" with the kids last week. They preferred their creations big, not small. Glad I bought that little craft.
Mali Su asked me if she could write a new Christmas song, I told her she totally could. She just brought me the first part, well sang it to me.
"when there is a holiday
we celebrate
tra la la la
when it is Christmas
we get together and open presents
we get together and open presents
you must say thank-you"
I can't wait to hear the rest!
Well Solomon is done with his nap and a friend is bringing her son by in a bit.
I can wake up early tomorrow, I can wake up early tomorrow...

I think I'm going to make a button that says "i dressed myself today" for kids to wear to school just so everyone there knows that their mommy most definitely did not pick out their mismatched crazy outfits! I remember telling my mom, "How could you let me walk out of the house in that!" when looking at old photos. I now know and understand why :)
