Jake's family does a conference call on the first Sunday of the month (fast Sunday) in the evening. They all (10 kids and parents) take an hour (or more if they choose) out of their busy lives to all come together and share and speak to one another. Jake's Dad shares a spiritual and uplifting message to his children. I love it. I love the unity in the family I married into. I am always excited to read the VIP on Kailie's blog after their phone calls (they pick a VIP and each share a highlight about each month). I hope that my children are as close as Jake is with his siblings. They may not all see or speak to each other all the time but, I do feel they try, they really all seem to try their best. What a blessing technology is!
The other day we were driving home and Jake had to swerve/brake hard to miss another car who swerved into our lane to miss someone who was pulling out in front of them. Well we all got jerked around. Aimi Lark yelled that Jake hurt her neck, the seat belt hurt my stomach, and Mali Su began to scold. She told Jake, "Daddy don't do that again or you are going to get in trouble!" and Aimi Lark lovingly said, "You hurt my neck, don't do that again, it's OK Daddy." Their personality differences continually crack me up.
I love our "5" children, I am so excited for all the good things going on in our lives.
Beau finished up part 1 of his online English class.
Brody has a birthday on Sunday, he'll be 13!
Aimi Lark signs I love you.
Mali Su speaks so well and is continuing to outgrow her obstinacy.
Malachi told Uncle Beau "SHHH" (pointer finger on the lips and all) the other day when Uncle Beau told him "No" about something.
Jake has his last final of the semester on Wednesday of this week.
Caroline and Solomon are doing well. Solomon still interacts with me daily.
Today I was reminded even more of my Savior and his birth. I am truly grateful to be reminded of Christ's birth and his mother, Mary. My mother in law told me how wonderful she felt when she was pregnant during the Christmas season, feeling like Mary did. This was when I was pregnant with Aimi Lark, who was born on Dec. 26. I am loving teaching my children about the birth of Jesus. When at the nativity Aimi Lark wanted nothing more than to hold baby Jesus after the presentation but due to the hustle and bustle he (the baby doll) was gone before she could. She seemed so heartbroken. I love being able to see the love for Christ in my small children.
Now THAT is fantastic! I love that they do a conference call with the whole family! How cool that they're all keeping in such close contact even with them all living across the country!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool! Jake's family reminds me of Tanners family.
