The girls call the coffee pot that came with their Christmas kitchen, SYRUP.  Makes us laugh every time.

We've incorporated the word "surprise" into our vocabulary.  It cuts down on chaos, let me explain.
Mali Su wants to watch one movie, Aimi Lark another, we tell them we'll pick and it'll be a SURPRISE!
Aimi Lark is either not picky or has wised up because lately she asks for a "SURPRISE" movie to watch, maybe it is her way of "winning" but that's not really her style.  "SURPRISE" movies, snacks, and destinations keep the bickering at arms length, I'll take it!

My skin has always been dry.  Moving to UT as a freshman in college I cracked!  Here I thought it'd be better, all the nice humidity, no luck, this pregnancy has my face dry as when we lived in AZ.

Lately I feel as if I'm playing the game of LIFE and we are taking the "college route."  I know that doesn't really make sense because we've been on the "college route" for 7 years now.  Well coming to law school was a big change, we started over.  I am so happy here and love it but now with our family of 7, almost 8, I think deep down I'm struggling with wanting to feel a bit more established.  Maybe it's because today I wanted a bigger desk and a bedroom for my girls.  I think it's time for me to rearrange my house to accommodate my desires.

Jake is officially done with his first semester of LAW SCHOOL.  Today as he was studying it was crazy to me to read with him.  He's in LAW SCHOOL!  How that just hit me is beyond me.  I think it was because something he was studying was quoted in the movie "Legally Blond" and it made me kinda laugh.  I am so proud of him.  When he took his first mid-term I told him something about doing great on his exam, he said he wanted to do "average" and now it is our little inside joke.  Well he just called to tell me that he's stuck on OBT on his way home and something crazy must have went down because there are police and choppers everywhere.  I looked online and this is what happened:
An Orange County sheriff's deputy was shot and injured tonight on South Orange Blossom Trail, authorities said.
South Orange Blossom Trail near the scene of the shooting at 45th Street has been closed in both directions. Most side streets in the area also are closed.
Dozens of sheriff's cruisers, Orlando police cars and Florida Highway Patrol troopers, along with officers wearing masks and body armor were throughout the neighborhood.
This is a developing story, so check back for updates.

The above was posted just minutes before Jake called me, that's awful!  Jake's now weaving his way through any backstreet he can with his GPS to get home.

Mali Su just woke up from me being on the phone with Jake.  She told me I was making her cry.  She sometimes tells us, "I think I'm tired" and when she thinks, she knows, and she sleeps!  She will also tell us "Will you please stop waking me up?" and this is usually said in the most pitiful voice if we interrupt her slumber.
Oh poor Mali Su just came to me and told me her arm is bleeding, I think it's asleep.  Now she's crying...
Night, y'all.

  1. What happened to her arm? And that's crazy-glad Jake was ok on his drive home. And, I understand wanting to feel more established- I think if I had as many children to be responsible for as you do, I'd feel that way too. But, we always want more right? You're very established- just in different ways. There's so many people our age who don't even have a home to live in (ahem, me in an apt). Can you imagine all of you living in a little apartment? You have a beautiful home and a wonderful family- and you and your husband have provided such a great life for your kiddos. Cheer up :) You're doing great!

  2. Her arm wasn't actually bleeding, I think it was just hurting so in her half asleep talk she told me it was bleeding. At first I thought it was "asleep" and that was how she described that sensation. Later she told us she fell and I do remember her falling in the play kitchen. I think we're ok though.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
