"I'm a BIG KID now"

Aimi Lark has now MASTERED the art of CLIMBING... This weekend we have had two MAJOR climbing incidences.

FIRST, On friday I went into her room to get her up from her nap and when I did I found her just about to bail over the side of her crib because she had discovered how to scale the side of it and climb over! Man did my heart skip a beat when I saw her as I walked in the room! So to combat this problem we have switched her and Mali Su's beds. Mali Su is now in the hard sided "real" crib and Aimi Lark is back in the soft sided pack n play and we are hoping that she won't be able scale the soft sides of the pack n play (wish us luck)

SECONDLY, Today she was in her high chair having some cookies and I guess she was done with the ones on her tray because I hear a noise in the kitchen and I yell to Jake that I think that sounds like she is on the counter and SURE ENOUGH she had made it from her high chair to the kitchen counter and was helping herself to seconds on the cookies. She has also learned what the Tupperware container that I put my cookies in looks like so when she sees it on the counter she will reach up and say "muh" over and over because she wants the CHOCOLATE goodness. She definitely has her daddy's sweet tooth.
On Friday night she also mastered walking in my heels! She has gotten really good at getting on shoes that are the same and walking around in them. Usually she goes for flip flops and tennis shoes but not this evening... She donned my black diamond studded heels. She had them both on and was shuffling through the living room like she had been wearing them all her life. Of course by the time I could get my camera and get back she was only wearing one shoe but still CUTE CUTE CUTE!

  2. Smart girl to figure out where the cookies are and how to get to them :)

  3. What an adventure! She's definitely going to keep you busy. I've been known to climb just about anywhere for cookies, so I don't think she'll grow out of that.

  5. Do your kids make you nervous when the start to do big kid things. Brigham makes me nervous ALL the time. I don't think I'm ready for this...

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
