We enjoyed the relaxation in the first class lounge of the airport. Someday maybe we can fly first class too.
Due to bad weather (we were told after sitting on the plane forever) we were rerouted and grounded in Tianjin. After much debate we convinced them to let us off the plane and that we would take a train the short distance to Beijing.
We ended up in a gorgeous hotel inside an old European building. We spent the night there before taking an early morning train to Beijing.
This hotel was my favorite and I'd love to spend more time in Tianjin. The combination of European and Asian in the city intrigued me.
There was a TV in our bathroom mirror. It appeared out of no where, I had to take a picture.
He had to get right to work, but I soaked in our room while I could. This would be my dream bedroom I think. I am a sucker for Victorian and 60s/70s decor. They are quite different I'm aware.

Our friend in Beijing sent us photos and sure enough it was crazy!
I stood outside on our balcony and watched the lights on that building change for what seemed like forever. Jake had to take a taxi back to the airport to get our bags when the plane finally decided to let them off.
It was way too short of a stay in this beautiful hotel. I loved it!
We got our train tickets and had breakfast. I hadn't had CHEESE in forever so this breakfast croissant was incredible!
Finally we boarded the train and in a flash we were in Beijing.
The US really could benefit from more effective mass transit.
A huge derailment was doable with just me and him. An adventure with my love is no trouble at all.
