I love the weird bedside light/curtain buttons in Chinese hotels.
We were running late it felt like to get to our airplane to travel to Hohhot. Thankfully we get the "red carpet" treatment and we were fine on time.
The Chinese bathrooms are so funny. If you need to charge anything there is an outlet. We were shuffled through the airport to our gate in a golf cart so we were able to quickly visit the lounge before boarding our flight.
As we got closer to landing in Hohhot the AC began to look like fog rolling into the plane. It reminds me of my AC in my car in the South. It has to be a humidity thing.
Hohhot felt very green and I couldn't get enough of the green ground and blue sky.
We checked into our first room and had a great view, but the AC never cooled down so we were switched to a nicer/bigger room.
We really wanted to see the Grasslands and Yurts.
"A traditional yurt (from the Turkics) or ger (Mongolian) is a portable, round tent covered with skins or felt and used as a dwelling by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia."
We drove for what seemed like forever, but enjoyed the glorious view.
We were disappointed to find that the grassland experience was so overly commercialized and regulated that we would not be participating.
We took in the sights before heading back to the car and back to our hotel.
He can nap anywhere!
When we stopped for "gas" I was confused, it seems here the cars run on natural gas?
It was a busy day, but a GREAT day!
