Tampa to Atlanta to Toronto to Shanghai

I had a horrible experience getting out of Tampa.

My flight was canceled and my luggage was broken all before I found a Delta flight after 7 hours of waiting.

I got to my hotel in Toronto and documented the damage and got some shut eye before my next flight to Shanghai.

When I got to the airport I saw this restaurant from a show Jake has been watching "How I Met your Mother."

Jake had told me I must try "poutine." It is a way the Canadians do french fries with gravy and cheese and sometimes bacon on top. I of course got a hotdog instead of a burger, I love hot dogs since I didn't get them as a kid. My Mom wasn't a fan.

Jake picked me up and we got my first subway card (of many to come).

We took the subway for about an hour and a half to where we were staying in Shanghai, Teddy's (friend from law school) parents' house.

They had a delicious Chinese feast prepared.

Jake and I talked and decided the beard had run its course and we could get him a haircut and a shave. Here are some BEFORE pictures of that beast.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween! Possibly ever! Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully. He even had the cutest song he sang. I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
