Malachi Wes @ 38 Months Old

40 inches tall (91%ile for height)
39lbs (95%ile for weight)

He loves me, his Mommy.
In his eyes I am perfect.
He turns to me for comfort, he turns to me for strength.
He wants me to hold him, hold his hand, or be there for him when he's scared.
He wants to sit on my lap at church, play wee wee toes with him, or rub his tummy or back looking for "bugs."
He is loves being a STRONG manly man, but is still a sweet little innocent boy who needs his Mother.  I always remind him to be BRAVE.
He asks me to lay with him at night and I pretty much always do.  I can't resist his requests, especially when I can hear a hint of lonely fear in his voice.
Such a tiny boy in a big bed in a room by himself.
He's precious.
He will only be small for a little while, I am grateful I get to be there for every part of it.
Thank you Malachi Wes for thinking I hung the moon, for thinking I'm perfect, for thinking you need me as much as you do.  You are such a sweet boy, I love you.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
