Aimi Lark the PUSH-OVER

Aimi Lark has no trouble being defiant to adults (what toddler doesn't?) but she cannot for the life of her stand up to other kids! She used to get "worked" (shillig term) by her cousin Madilyn and I ALWAYS waited for her to retailiate but it never happened. Last night when the Keetons were here Hadley started attacking Aimi Lark and what did Aimi Lark do??? She just TOOK IT! and then she began to get upset when Hadley ever so playfully was biting/kissing her face. A little bit later Hadley and Aimi Lark got into a SCREAMING match and would each take turns screaming in each other's face. I think Hadley then GROWLED and Aimi Lark started crying and walked over to me. It caused us adults to laugh so hard. I just continue to wonder if Aimi Lark being so passive with other kids is going to be a problem???

  1. Maybe we should keep Brigham away from her...

  2. You had better. She's fierce. As you can tell, we've been working on her choke-holds and headbutts.

  3. You probably meant Aimi Lark...and in Hadley's defense, she was just playing AND she's less than half the age of Aimi Lark AND she can't even walk AND she felt bad later about the growling.

  4. sure she felt bad about making her cry (twice) ....

  5. Aimi Lark is a peacemaker. What a wonderful trait!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
