Don't Blink

I'm starting to get that feeling that I hear "older" people speak of.  The feeling that things *just* happened.  I know I'm only 28 but sometimes when I think back to the last 10+ years I'm like, "whoa."  and then I look forward and think, "I'll be where so and so is before I know it." It's a funny feeling for sure and it makes life seem that much more REAL.  I love it, I love life, I don't mind getting older and even aging, but I do sometimes just need a second to take it all in. Sometimes I just want a second to go back to a certain stage in life that I loved oh so much.  The hard thing is my life has been a good one and all the stages are worth revisiting.  I just hope that I am always doing my best to live my life in such a way that I am happy with it, that I am happy with that time in my life, that I am making the choice to be HAPPY! I'm sure everyone has these realizations in life. Things can seem like yesterday but ...

Some MORE Valentine's Happiness

We had pancakes for breakfast. Made LOTS of forts.  Finished our fancy cake we covered in sprinkles. (Don't tell the kids but I only had 4 ounces of normal cream cheese for the frosting so I added in 2 ounces of cream cheese with chives, BUT with all that butter and powdered sugar and SPRINKLES they didn't notice and kept telling me how good it was and then that made me feel bad that their cake had ONIONS in it!  little green onions that thankfully the sprinkles covered up)  One of the blankets had a hole in it so it made the PERFECT fort WINDOW!  While they were napping I cut out TONS of hearts for them to color and make Valentine's for each other.  It was a hit!  THEN Daddy came home from law school (calling first hoping the kids were still up) to surprise the girls with gifts from him (flowers) and gifts from the boys (candy).  He's setting the bar high for those BYU boys (yes I'm brainwashing my kids to go to BYU). ...

Happy Valentine's Day Jacob

Since you are away I wanted to share this that I made with you a little early. I have loved 2003-2013 with you!

Our Valentine's Day

Jake had to leave at 4 this morning to go and take a Chinese test (DLPT) for the Army so I slightly remember getting a kiss good-bye from him.  The kids were up bright and early as expected so before 9am we had busted out this heart cake.  It's a square cake with two halves of a circle cake making the heart shape. Yesterday as I lay in bed so sick Jake comes home from work and hands me his lunch kit to put away.  He always puts it on the counter so I of course opened it.  Inside was this sweet note, tickets, and some candy.  He remembered seeing a pro basketball game here was on my "while we live in Florida" bucket list.  I had forgot!  He works really hard at being "romantical" and making sure I know just how much he loves and adores me.  I know it's true!  I cannot wait for our Valentine's/9 year anniversary date!

Solomon is a MESSY MONSTER

Mali Su can ride her BIKE w/o Training Wheels

She is now 5 years old and this is the age that works for us.   5th birthday, learn to ride a bike. Jake is a pro at this.  I didn't tell him but I had a dream the night before that I taught her how to ride her bike because he was so busy.  Man alive am I glad he wasn't too busy because that man of mine is GOOD at what he does.  She would forget to peddle, put on her brakes a lot, and leaned way far to each side.  She was so determined and figured it out in no time.  She told Jake after one trip down that she got "two crashes!"  This one rode his tricycle down and decided this dirt was more fun.  He's literally a MESS all the time.  Aimi Lark was a great big sister and rode right beside her each time up and down the hill.  I love how determined my little Mali Su is and she does not scare easily!  Up the hill again she goes!  On her last ride if she made it all the way to me ...

Punched in the Face

That's what I feel like right now.  Metaphorically and physically. Last night as we drove home after I did hair and Jake had class it was late.  I began to feel a headache hit me like a ton of bricks.  Then about 5 minutes later my nose started pouring and I couldn't breathe.  THEN a few minutes after that it became hard to swallow.  I've never been able to FEEL a cold come on but oh man.  It's AWFUL.  I feel like poo. I ordered flowers and found out I might have been scammed, BOO. Sometimes doing hair stresses me out even though I LOVE doing it.  I'm not a perfectionist naturally with crafts or projects so when I do hair I have to be to make it all work out and that's sometimes hard/stressful.  Plus, sometimes, hair color is just unpredictable! I liked taxes back in the day when we didn't have so many forms to deal with.  I liked taxes back in our 1040EZ days.  I just wish I could pay taxes out of my paychecks and be done w...
