At 4:41am this morning I got the call from my mom that my Aunt Rachel (my mom's sister) had passed away. I feel for her son BJ, her mother Carolyn, and all of her friends and family who will miss her. "And again, blessed are all they that mourn, for they shall be comforted" (3 Nephi 12:4). I know that the Lord can comfort us during this difficult time. I believe that because of the love and sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ she will live again. She has shed her physical body and the pain and suffering that accompanied it and has gone to a better place. I know that Jesus Christ loves us and He brings us comfort at this time of loss. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to visit with my Aunt Rachel this summer while in Texas. I appreciated some of the kind comments posted on Facebook today: Carolyn Bertrand: my beautiful daughter has gone to be with the lord now at 5.35am today. I want to thank everyone for thinking of me,I still need your prayers Sarah Lunt...

CHORES

I think we may have found a perfect chore for the girls. I asked Uncle Brody to get the clothes out of the dryer and he asked Aimi Lark to do it. She was more than happy to help and before long Mali Su caught on and joined in on the fun! I am excited to include them in more of my daily activities .

Oatmeal for Breakfast

Uncle Brody is sharing his love of oatmeal with the girls. Until he moved in I couldn't get the girls to touch oatmeal with a 10 foot pole!

I love when my kids play

Whenever I fix the girls' hair Aimi Lark always asks for it to be "like Mommy" and that means a ponytail. This makes me realize I really need to wear my hair down more often but I love that my girls want to be like me. Their hair is still short but we make it work. I love when all three of our children play and interact with each other. It is normal for Aimi Lark and Mali Su to play with each other but the other day they had a good time playing with Malachi as well. Aimi Lark loved that Malachi would grab her finger. We were having art time on the porch and Aimi Lark started telling me she was putting on her make-up. I look and see that she has a crayon (make-up applicator) and is touching it to the squares on her color box (make-up) and then applying it to her face.

Incline Trainer

When we bought my treadmill I realized it was called an "incline trainer" but little did I know how awesome it is. I love this thing. It is the ultimate treadmill. I can walk, run, or incline train. I have only been incline training and love it. I am not a runner by any stretch of the imagination. Running has never suited me (even in Jr. High). Today I put in the iFIT card to do a work-out coached by Jillian Michaels from the show "Biggest Loser." It was AMAZING to have a personal trainer talking to you throughout the entire workout. She is tough but I feel great! I think I am going to love these iFIT cards because it is 96 workouts coached by a personal trainer! I love that when you buy things from COSTCO not only do you get a great deal but they include "extras" like these iFIT cards. Well there is my plug for incline training!!!

Blessings

I love to see the hand of the Lord in my life. I am not perfect at always recognizing it but Jake does a great job at this and helps me to remember. Lately we have been tremendously blessed in the monetary area of our life. Jake did not get paid for 2+ months due to his summer training and such. We are still playing catch-up after living on savings for so long. We have received many monetary blessings over the last little while that are worth noting. -Our tire repair on our Sequoia was free. -The kids at Brody's school alternate working in the cafeteria and get their lunch for free, this week was his week so FREE LUNCHES for the week. -I received "treadmill fund" money. -We used all the change from my mom for our date night. -Our electricity bill for our TX house was half of what it usually is. Jake has quoted this scripture since we were first married. He said his dad stressed the importance of this. THE DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LA...

FOOD TIME!

Tonight Malachi continued to be needy and upset. He doesn't cry but he makes the most pitiful whimpers and whines. I decided to see if maybe feeding him food would help. I opened up a box of cereal and tried it. It worked! As soon as the spoon entered his mouth he was quiet and no longer whiny. He actually looked as if he was going to fall asleep in Jake's arms. He only had a little bit but I could tell it hit the spot. A little bit later in the evening Daddy was able to rock him to sleep. I was so grateful for the help.
