Halloween 2019

Halloween snuck up on me this year.  I know I have had plenty of time to plan for a baby to have their 1st Halloween and all, but the day of I realized I didn't have a costume for her.  My friend Katie asked what LJ was going to be and I said, "a baby" because while I knew it was Halloween, I had also completely spaced it.  When Jake got home from the office he asked if I was going to be Belle and once again I had not given that a thought.  My hair was in a bun and I didn't have a bit of makeup on.  In about five minutes I dug out Mali Su's turtle costume from 2008 and threw on my Belle costume and we were in the front yard taking pictures.  Leila Jin and I headed back home after a few houses while the rest of the crew made their way around our amazing neighborhood.  I am so grateful for cousins, candy, and costumes that work year after year.  I am even more grateful that our kids did not care one bit that they wore their last year costumes.  I am grateful for this life!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
