Malachi Says...

"We got some trouble here."

"I got some good news and some bad news
the bad news is..."

"You gotta see this"
(with the most serious face as he stands in front of me in his underwear)
I say, "what is it?"
"Aliens."
(he's watching Chicken Little)

"I've got my powers!"
He even mentioned having "apple powers" once after church.

He always asks me, "Mom, can I have a hug?"

He loves to tell me, "Mom, you're pretty."  "Mom, you're so beautiful."  "You're the best Mom"
(his Daddy has trained him well)

I told him the other day to stop picking his nose.  He told me, "I'm not picking my nose, I'm picking my boogers."  Lovely son, just lovely.

When I start to see him going into a silent obstinate episode I ask him if he's my happy boy and he will sometimes plant the fakest forced closed mouth smile on his face and nod yes.  I will take it!

His MAJOR melt downs (like he had in NYC and DC) are fewer and farther between.
(insert happy dance here)

I asked him to come get in a picture.  He just stood where he was and didn't move or talk.  I asked him again and he told me, "I'm taking the picture in my mind."
Oh dear.

He is an excellent room cleaner!

He says this,  "Mom, can you hold me?  I love you Mom" (as he pats my back and I hold him in my arms)

This is his turtle from Sea World.  He told me that it was a baby turtle today and that the camo Boonie hat was the crib.  I love this boy!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
