New hair

Lots of highlights,  sits just past my shoulders.

My girls start voice lessons next week and I'm thrilled.   I can't carry a tune in a bucket (unless I've heard the song a thousand times before) so I'm excited to help my girls not have my "problem."

Solomon refused to nurse the last four times I tried.   Guess we're done or he's well on his way to weaning himself.   Either way, I'll take it!

It's rained pretty much non stop since yesterday.   I normally love rain but would rather be swimming in the lake than watching cartoons in the cabin all day.

The girls got pretend bow and arrows.   Now Jake wants them in archery.  I just think of catniss from hunger games and the girls quote the new Disney movie Brave.

Solomon is a really obedient little boy.  It sometimes surprises me the commands he understands and follows.

I got to oovoo (like Skype) with my mom, Beau, and Brody yesterday.   It was way fun.  I love technology.

Jake has a lot of responsibilities lately with his guard unit.   It's fun for me to see him doing and learning in every facet of his busy life.

I love my mini-van.  I don't really care what I drive as long as it doesn't break down but this sienna of ours does anything we need.  So much room for people and/or things.

Today is my brother in law Luke's birthday.  Wish we were there to party with him.

My sister in law Audrey comes home from her LDS mission in Panama on November 15.

My brother Beau is going to Norfolk Virginia at the end of the month.   Guess we'll be exploring there eventually.

Jake just texted it's lunch.  Yay!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
