I did Zumba at the gym last night with the best instructor ever.  I might be racially-profiling here (in a positive way) but the teacher was a younger, toned, black girl and she was the BEST, most amazing teacher EVER.  I am incredibly sore today and want to go back to her class EVERY Tuesday and I've never cared who exactly the teachers were at the gym.

I have a special respect for those who drive 18-wheelers.  Yesterday as I drove down Orange Blossom trail in Orlando to go to Costco I saw so many big rigs navigating the three lane road.  Cars were not nice to them.  I was amazed with their skill to drive those things.  I was grateful for all my stuff they deliver.  I'll admit, having lived on a truck for part of my childhood with my Wilhite father and my mother and my Mom's Mom driving a truck and sometimes going with her on little trips during the summers helps with my view.  Roll on big trucks, roll on.

Malachi fell out of the buggy yesterday at Costco.  I had parked the buggy by the bathroom and as I was backing up to navigate back out of where I was "parked" the buggy went one way and he went the other.  He toppled over the side as he yelled, "Mommy!"  It was too late.  I scooped him up and was relieved to not see a single drop of blood as I looked at his face and mouth.  Then I moved my hands that were holding the back of his head.  The BACK of his head was bleeding.  I was finally able to look at it and see that it's a tiny spot, tiny.  Why do heads have to bleed SO MUCH!?  I told Jake he'll just be like all Shillig men and have scars in the back of his head.  I was just grateful no one came around during it all.  Can you imagine the, "can I help yous?" or looks I would have gotten as "mother of the year" at that moment?

We made hand print Mickey Mouse and Minnie shirts yesterday for the kids. They are a little abstract but still cute.  We are ALL going to Disney this weekend.  I am so excited to get a cousin picture in front of the castle.  I am semi-obsessed with getting hand print shirts of my kids for different events/holidays.

I just went running and have been doing Jillian Michaels with my sister in law, Kaylene.  I have hit a wall (with weight loss) and been at this wall for MONTHS now, not cool.

Our summer is BUSY.  I'm excited, but nervous.  We are not normally planners like this with pretty much every weekend til August planned out.  We go and do but we go and do when we decide to.  Wish me luck with this whole 3 months in advance planned out stuff.

I wrote this post days ago and now it's Friday and I'm excited for the weekend.
Today is Saturday and I'm just going to post this random, who knows what I was thinking when I started this post.

  1. Emily toppled a cart a few years ago. I remind her that she's twice Morgan and Vivian's weight all the time but Em has it in her head that she is the same and can do the same things as them. So they hang on the cart, climb around the cart, and I warn her not to try it. I turn around to get something and CRASH. She leaned on the front of the only-half-full cart and dumped the whole thing on her, Morgan included. Crying in the cereal section. Kids.
And of all that post, this is what I remember come comment time!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
