Bedtime

Last night the sweetest thing happened.
We came home from the gym and I told the kids to potty, brush their teeth, and get in their beds.
I went to check on their progress expecting to find kids being silly and instead there was cute Malachi just finishing up brushing his teeth like a pro.  When did he get so capable?
It just made me smile as I stood in the doorway watching him rinse his toothbrush under the running water, bang it on the edge of the sink to get the water off and then turning off the faucet.
He turned around from where he stood on the stool at the sink and asked me, "will you lay with me" and I did.
We read Winnie the Pooh and Malachi of course laughed at the part where they are painting Eeyore.
Sometimes things just go right, just right.
My big boy, my big 3 year old boy, I love you.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
