Aimi Lark came out of her room during quiet time (for the 1000th time).
She had a SHOCKED look on her face, then I saw blood, lots of blood.
She SCREAMED, in ran Aunt Kaylene.
We deemed the ER necessary and THANKFULLY I had the van.
I headed to the ER in the town where Jake teaches, thinking we'd be in and out and could take him to school, didn't happen.
We waited,
and waited.
The doctor tried to do a "conscious sedation" but at that point realized the wounds were extensive.
Off to the children's hospital in Orlando (near Daddy's law school where he was taking a final).
She slept.
Then it was off to surgery.
Dr. Swana came in and was young and Asian, I totally judged him, as EXCELLENT!
What would surgery be without Popsicles in recovery?
We slept off and on a lot throughout the evening/night/next morning.
The had a great VHS movie collection so she saw Lilo and Stitch and Bug's Life quite a few times.
She was REALLY excited about the bacon. I honestly don't know if I've ever bought bacon in my entire marriage. My poor deprived family.
When we left the first hospital to head to Arnold Palmer's Children's Hospital one of the nurses told me they'd spoil her over there. THEY DID!
She was taken care of beyond belief (as were my kids at home thanks to AUNT KAYLENE).
Who wouldn't love a children's hospital practically sponsored by Disney?
Daddy came to get us when it was time to go home.
I'm grateful she's healing.
I'm grateful for modern medicine.
I'm grateful for surgery, stitches, and medical insurance
(even though that 20% and deductible has me scared).
I'm grateful she will be good as new before we know it.
Thanks to everyone for checking on us (mia), bringing us goodies and taking keys to Jake (Katie), and keeping my children well cared for (Luke and Kaylene).

Where did she have surgery? Poor girl..and poor mama. We have been there! Glad she is ok.
