Adventures in Potty Training Malachi

Tomorrow will make day 4 of potty training Malachi.
He got underwear for Christmas and Jake thought he'd start teaching him that day.
Malachi seems to have lost motivation to continue on, but I'm feeling the desire to save $ so he's being potty trained and Solomon is back in cloth diapers after a brief hiatus without a washer and dryer.
Malachi does well with #2 but dribbles and never holds his bladder long enough for #1.  (TMI I know)
I washed sheets and at least 8 pairs of underwear today.
I'm exhausted, but refuse to turn back now.  Even though I sat in the bathroom on a stool nursing Solomon while encouraging Malachi relentlessly for what seemed like an hour to use the potty for him to get up, put on his underwear, walk into the dining room and start yelling out, "I sorry Mommy, I sorry" because after about 6 steps out of the bathroom he peed his underwear.  I don't think he quite has figured out what that feeling is yet.
Here's hoping tomorrow is better, for every one's sakes, especially Solomon, he's sick.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
