and my four little ones in the pew. We made it, we survived. I got everyone up and ready and out the door without feeling rushed or stressed or yelling. (Mia and the boys aren't here) I was wearing make-up, from last night, but it wasn't smudged so I just threw on some lip gloss. It was a bit funny to me that I kept waiting for Jake to walk through the door to take us to church. Then I saw the keys on the dresser, he had walked, we had the van. We got to the chapel, the kids ran on the stand (stage) to hug Jake and then we took our seats towards the back on the side. I was so excited to sit behind some sweet sisters that I knew would happily let me be their service project if needs be. Well needs did be and I had to feed Solomon so I took Malachi with me and Rachel stepped in and sat with the girls. Mali Su loved her being with us. Towards the end of the meeting Malachi kept asking for "Dad Dad" and I told him after the song he could go see Dad Dad. He then said, "Amen, see Dad Dad" and I just had to laugh, he thought he could just hurry things along. He then folded his arms, bowed his head, lifted up his head said it again, "Amen, see Dad Dad" and tried to squeeze past me. Silly, sweet, smart boy. I am so grateful for how well the day went.
Aimi Lark even gave her FIRST talk (speech) in primary. Here's kinda how it went, I gave her cue words...
"We believe that the first principles and ordinances of Jesus Christ" is what she said but the theme is actually,
We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost (Articles of Faith 1:4).
(This next part she knew and said so sweetly)
"I have faith in Jesus Christ.
When I am 8 I will be baptized by immersion.
After I am baptized my Daddy will lay his hands on my head to give me the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Then she bore her testimony of Joseph Smith being a prophet, closed in the name of Jesus Christ and sat down.
She had a little moment of speaking REALLY loudly in the microphone, but I was so proud of her for speaking loud for all to hear.
On the way home the girls argued a bit and Mali Su took off her shoe and hurled it across the car at Aimi Lark, leaving a nice big red bump on Aimi Lark's cheek (which caused Aimi Lark to wail) but other than that, WE MADE IT!

Congrats! One Sunday down, only ?? to go? lol You'll do great!
ReplyDeleteYou are such an inspiration girl! Your kids are too cute!
ReplyDeleteI got on here earlier today but had to leave before I got to read it. Yay! I'm so glad it went as well as it did. This could be your lot in life for a long time :D. You have a great husband who could be in positions like this for years to come :D.
ReplyDeleteOk the hurling the shoe across the van cracked me up. For such sweet kids, they can be toots sometimes can't they? :) Oh well, great day anyhow :) And, sisterly love..... :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on surviving. Taking care of kids all by yourself during church is terrible. I know, we've had many of those Sundays either because a work crisis came up or a church assignment. Good luck, I'm sure your ward will help. It seems during a like an Sunday emergency, someone always appears to help.
