I found this forgotten post

Jake slicked his hair back along with Malachi's for church one Sunday.  Can't you tell Malachi LOVED it?
Brody finishes up 7th grade.  When I was in 7th grade I played the clarinet in band, I was a cheerleader, and I tried (being the key word) my hand in track running the 400m hurdles.
We love CANDY LAND!
Solomon isn't quite ready for the bumbo seat but I thought I'd give it a try.
Brody passed off the physical fitness part of his tenderfoot scout rank with Jake one day.  Solomon looked too cute not to photograph another day.
Who doesn't love the smell of a fresh, clean, soft skinned, chubby baby?
He can kick those legs faster than I've ever seen.  He's a mover.  He was a mover in the womb and a mover now.
The kids got some new toys recently.  An alligator see-saw from a neighbor and the DVD Letter Factory from Braxton to Malachi for his 2nd birthday.  Now that we live in FL I love anything that has alligators on it.  Plus Jake has decided we're a Gator not Seminole family (the college rivals).
Mali Su is a funny girl.  She is known to sing and dance and tell stories and sometimes just have a little tea party with herself.  I had to document (even though I'm a little embarrassed) that I put Malachi's hair in a ponytail.  I slicked it back and put it right up.  Many of the Polynesian guys in our ward have longer hair so I asked one of the guys one night what he was using to push his back (his hair was about the length of Malachi's).  He had a headband of some sort and said once it got a little longer he would put it right up into a ponytail.  Well it's warm and I thought Malachi looked hot so I did it.  I told Jake we have to buy some NIKE sweatbands or something because I need a more "masculine" way of keeping my son's hair out of his face.  Still no date set on when Jake wants to cut Malachi's hair.
Oh how I love this little picnic table my Dad made.

  1. I LOVE their slicked-back hair! Interesting that some of the guys in your ward have longer hair. My Jake's hair is longer than most around here and we get some flak for it but I think he looks cute. I say go with whatever works!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
