My Thoughts from Today

I'm emotional this pregnancy.  As in I've had a few times where I just start crying, for who knows why.  Today I started crying because I felt so frustrated with myself for being frustrated by everyone when no one was doing anything wrong.  Did that even make sense?

I have to click the lock button on the van clicker twice, even though it will lock with one click.  It takes two clicks to UNlock all the doors, but I must do two clicks for both locking and unlocking.

I'm having to switch my OB doctor.  It turns out she does not do deliveries, only prenatal care.  She will switch you over at the end to her partner people but I'd rather have more control over my situation than that.  So the search is on.  Luckily lots of people having/had babies in my ward (at church) so I've got a plethora of knowledge/opinions.

I coupon shopped this week.  I spent $184.85 and saved $317.30.  It was an awesome feeling.  All those super bowl sales and coupons just didn't see me coming.  It took two buggies to get my stuff to the car and the young checker guy kindly rang up my 121 coupons for my 190 items.  I was right at about a $1/item.

Malachi can now get out of his bed.  Aimi Lark gets up every single day WAY before the sun.  People wonder why I put my kids to bed at 6PM every night.  Well, they get up at 6AM no matter what so I might as well get my money's worth out of it.

I am loving having my mom here.  I totally get live-in help now.  She is so helpful!  The kids have pretty much stopped asking me for anything and go straight to her.  I love this bonding time they are getting.  Malachi and my mom have gotten especially close, she understands his "cave-man" speech.  Mia is so cool.  She puts the picnic table in the living room, sets up "pallets" to watch a movie on, and reads books!
We'll forgive her for the occaional slip-up, like putting both Malachi's legs in the same leg of his pants when he wanted his pants on to play outside.  It was really funny, he was so confused.

Jake is making me so happy with how nicely he's doing in school as well as caring for his overly sensitive/emotional wife.  I just wanted to clean the house the other morning so he took the kids to the park for hours (and hours, and hours).  A quiet clean house was just what I needed to recharge my batteries, thank you hunnie.

I LOVE that Jake LOVES law school.  It makes me so happy he loves what he is learning/pursuing a career in.  Plus it feels like money well spent on his education.

I want 4 bedrooms in our next rental here in Orlando.
I want to rent out our TX house, that'd help a lot financially.
I want to snorkel in the Florida Keys and see the Civil War Fort that is there.

I realized just the other day, I'm having a baby!  A baby again in the house.  Malachi isn't a baby anymore really.  He walks and can communicate his needs for the most part.  I will soon be nursing again, I'm so excited yet so nervous about how it will change our whole household/family dynamic.

I'm so glad Jake's training is now in August.  He's so perfect with newborn babies.  I'm glad there isn't a chance he'll miss the birth/new baby time.  He takes complete care of them.  Luckily I nurse otherwise I might never see the baby.

I'm still constantly stressing over Beau graduating.  He's doing amazing in school.  Seriously he has As in 5 of his 7 classes.  This is so great for him.  He just has this English teacher that can get me extremely frustrated and of course English 4 is a requirement for graduation and he barely passes even with all Jake's help.  It's exhausting.

Brody is really growing up.  I can't get over how young he looked just a short year and a half ago since he came to live with us.  Now he's sharing clothes with Beau, this morning he left for school wearing Beau's jeans!  He's really getting into scouts here and I'm feeling inadequate to help him, I'm learning though.  Plus our ward is great so they're helpful as well.

My sister in law Mandi is planning on coming down from GA for Solomon's birth.  I'm so excited.  It will be great to have such support.  My mother-in-law may be able to come as well, we shall see.  I feel so blessed to have married into a family with such a varied wealth of knowledge and wisdom.

Malachi's almost asleep, hallelujah, I need a nap.  My eyes are burning from needing a nap and the tears.
Ok, have to be at the doctor in 2 hours, NAP TIME is a go!

Well after my nap I went to my appointment with my OB, I use the term my loosely.  I was at first super happy with the OB I was seeing.  She is great.  I was then informed she does not do deliveries, only prenatal care, what?  Then she was gone for my last two appointments.  These last two appointments I saw a super nice older Filipino lady OB who was filling in.  Not only was their a slight language barrier but the nurse told me she is well known for her amazing incisions with c-sections.  I don't want someone who does amazing incisions, I ideally would like to not to have an incision.  So needless to say my desire to find a new OB was even more-so pushed to the front of my mind the entire drive home from my 2 hour long doctor appointment. I cried, and cried, and cried some more as I held my belly talking to Solomon.  I want what will be best for both him and myself.  I am glad there are lots of girls in my ward I can talk to but I sorely miss my sister in law Ashley (a labor and delivery nurse) who knows how I prefer to deliver and can tell me just what OBs work well with my desires.  See, I told you I married into a family full of knowledge!

Well the kids are FINALLY down and I have yet to eat dinner, better go find something, or better yet ask my mom to make me something yummy.  She's so good at that.

  1. You poor thing! I remember feeling the exact same way when I was pregnant with Ashlynn. I was in California under new care with a dr. I didn't know or like. It was so frustrating and I ended up having to change mid pregnancy. So sorry you have to go through it all! I am so glad Jake is taking such great care of you....but seriously, he always does.
How long is your mom staying with you?
I wish I was close so I could help if you needed.
Call me if you ever need to chat!
    love you!

  2. So many things in this post, how will I comment on everything? LOL! Good luck finding the right OB. I know it will work out. The picture of Malachi with both legs in one pant leg made me laugh out loud, actually it makes me laugh just thinking about it. I hope you feel better tomorrow!

  3. Sometimes life is so trying, isn't it? A lot of the time, it seems. Hang in there. You are a fantastic mommy and wife and I'm probably not your only friend who thinks of you as a source of strength when I'm bummed out. *Hugs

  4. 1) Pallets on the floor were always so much fun as a kid growing up.
    2) Yay for mom being there--sometimes just knowing she can make you a grilled cheese is enough to make you calm again.
    3) Jake looks super strong in the picture of him pushing the girls in the stroller and M. on his back- I giggled. Can you imagine turning the corner and seeing that walking down the street? Pure athleticism.
    4) Brody and Beau- you and Jake are really troopers for the way you help these guys through school. And, every mother may feel a little funny when it comes to Scouts, BUT like you said, that's normal- NOT TO WORRY. Jake knows quite a bit about those things, and his knowledge kicks in in those places where your knowledge of other things kicks in. You're a great team!
    5) The Doc- think of it this way, once you see another doctor, you've done 3 deliveries, so you can fully explain what you like and how you want to do things...at least it's not your first rodeo, so you will have more control by sharing your wants (and experience!) than you think...it'll all be ok :)
And finally, #6- You're doing great!!!! Mom, Hubby, and all the Kiddos are there to help, you're not alone :) Keep smiling!

  5. You are SO amazing! Sorry you are having to struggle with the tears and doctor drama but you always pull through with flying colors! Your attitude is incredible. I LOVED all the happy moments you thought to share. I'm so happy for you and your "little" family. Thanks for inspiring me, yet again!! I love you tons!

  6. How fun to have your mom with you for a little stay. That is so frustrating about your doctor, what is the point in being an OBGYN if you don't practice a big part of it. So weird. I can't believe how big all the kids our getting, brody included. We love you guys!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
