-Malachi has a fever, since his nap yesterday.  It's pitiful.
-I filed our taxes today.  I will say that since we've been married we have yet to have tax returns coming that weren't already ear-marked for something "responsible."  I remember at the beginning of our marriage we paid off debt and then the years after that we SAVED it for EMERGENCIES that thanks to the Army's pay system always arose.  Then this year, we'll be LIVING off it.  Exciting?  No.  Responsible?  Yes.  I will admit though this year I just want to take some of it and run away as a family to the Keys.  Can y'all see that I'm currently obsessed with a getaway to the FL Keys?
-I've hit this major STARVING constantly stage in my pregnancy.  I now fear the scale.  Also I keep getting heartburn, not soon after I eat but like 4 hours after I eat.  Shouldn't I have digested my food by then?
-I really love living in FL.
-I miss having a playroom, like a lot.
-I love love love our ward.
-I'm making to-do lists again for myself.  It feels good.  I am enjoying the structure.
-Tonight I kinda went around cleaning and panicking about wanting a playroom/re-arranging every one's rooms etc.  Jake came to me with a loving smile and told me he loved seeing me "nesting."  I was ornery and told him I wasn't "nesting" I just couldn't take not having a playroom for the kids anymore.
-Beau is headed home from MEPS tonight and will have to go back due to a technicality about my mom's signature on some form, lame.
-I'm a firm believer in surrounding yourself with good friends that lift you up and teach you.  I hope that I can be that friend for others.  I feel so frazzled lately, a total mess.
-I'm so excited for my SPRINKLE on Saturday.  The boys also have a campout this weekend.
-Jake filled our 55 gallon water barrells!  YAY for water storage.  Now to build back up our food storage I've been neglecting.
-I should really get to work on my blog book, I think I'll do that now.
Oh and because I LOVE pictures here's one Jake found of his mom, him, and the midwife who was there for his home delivery (his mom's first).

  1. That is so cool that you have older pictures like that. good job on making a to do list for yourself, that is something I recently did too, just writing it down helps so much. Yea tax returns and being responsible... haha! being an adult is awesome that way. And holy cow, you are not very far away from having little Solomon! and this comment is just totally random.

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
