The girls saw an ultrasound picture on some one's blog I was reading on my phone tonight while laying in bed with them and they both excitedly asked if that was a picture of SOLOMON.  Aimi Lark pays so much attention to my tummy and always greets Solomon, then me.

Jake knows that Malachi has a morning "session" so he has taken it upon himself to teach Malachi to use the potty in the mornings.  We have been successful and Malachi does sit on the potty, and even asks to sit on it.  We have had a few times where Mia has changed his morning diaper and Jake didn't know and still spent an hour trying to get him to have his morning "session" on the potty, not the diaper, and he's already gone, oops.
(don't let his face fool you, he got that book and sat there all on his own)

Malachi has to live in "winter clothes" (Que his favorite mickey shirt) these days due to MANY MANY bites on his arms and legs that he keep scratching.  Those mosquitoes really love his sweet blood and he has FIERCE itchy whelps as a result.  The other night we put him to bed in pants and long sleeves and I told Jake, I bet one gets his tummy since his shirt pulls up.  Sure enough the next morning, a bite, on his tummy.  No one else in the house is getting bit, poor boy.

Aimi Lark won't stop escaping/running away/going outside without permission.  She has learned to unlock all 3 locks on our front door.  She is sneaky too.  It is scary!  I'm getting bells first thing in the morning to hang above the door as a little more alert for us to know when she escapes.
(this is her sitting on my bed with me til Jake got home, I'm out of punishment ideas for her escapes)

Mali Su is really developing into a cautious/adventurous type.  She isn't naturally adventurous but I can see her slowly learning from her Daddy and coming out of her shell, just like her Mommy did.  OH!  and she doesn't like raviolis from a can, guess she isn't as much like me as I originally thought, I loved those as a kid.

  1. That is so funny, I LOVED the ravioli out of a can as a kid and Ava HATES it! I love when you post all the new things they are up too :)

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
