When I was in High School I remember my cousin Marianne telling me about her sister's husband, Thomas. She was bragging about him. She told me that when Melissa (her sister/my cousin) was feeling overwhelmed her husband would just up and take the kids to the zoo for the day. The zoo example is the one I remember. It always stuck out in my mind. I remember thinking then how awesome that was for the Dad to just step up to the plate and care for the mother by taking care of the children outside the home for her. Jake is amazing at doing that. He makes sure I get the "me" time I need as well as take the kids off my hands when I need a nap or a break. I am feeling quite uncomfortable this week, so, Thank-You Jacob for taking care of me and the children. I love you.
Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.
That is so sweet! I totally feel you. Lee is gone way too much to really do that often for me, but the other night I put the girls to bed early and cleaned the house like crazy all by myself in peace and quiet, and topped it off with a hot bath... it was bliss... even if every bone in my body ached the next morning lol. I hope you are feeling a little better! Pregnancy is so much easier when you have an understanding husband :)
ReplyDeleteYou're such a sweetheart! You & Jake are my heroes! You also have such a great memory. I wouldn't expect a high school girl to even notice such things. haha When we had 7 kids I definitely crumbled on several occasions and Thomas was my knight in shining armor! He often saved me when our three older boys were WILD too. We miss the little boys terribly but 4 is a great number. (We stay in touch with the little guys and they're doing well.)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got break. You both married well! I love y'all tons!
