Announcement

I forgot to tell everyone,
not only does Orlando have
all kinds
of fun things to do
BUT
Orlando
has
ice cream
 &
good news folks
I just signed up for their "country club"
so now I'll be receiving
coupons and exclusive discounts!

In other news we got our lawn done today.
Turns out the guy across the street practically maintains every one's in the neighborhood.
AND
Since we do not own a lawn mower and he came so highly recommended, we paid him.
I'm so impressed.
He edged our sidewalks/patio.
He mowed.
He weed-eated (what is the term for that really?).
He blew all the debris from our sidewalks/patio/drive-way.
I'm so impressed by his work!

In major life changing news for myself.
I had a great experience today.
I realized I love how multi-cultural Orlando is.
It is FULL of such diversity.
I feel like I'm living in my own personal Ellis Island.
We are surrounded by so many groups of people, it just made my heart smile today.
I am all for people coming to America for a better life,
I've always said that,
but now I truly believe my own words.

Orlando agrees with the Shillig 4 family!
AND
We welcome visitors, we'll have Bluebell in the freezer.

  2. ooh, I can always get excited about a good post involving ice cream :) I saw Blue Bell down here in AZ too, and thought of you :) I had some last time I was in Texas but haven't had any here yet. (I was just in a small store and they didn't have much variety, so I need to go to a bigger grocery store and choose the best kinds) Glad you're getting settled!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
