ROTC awards

Today we met Jake on campus for his ROTC awards program. His MS III class won overall and they each got a candy bar :) We then had a catered lunch of Panda Express. I have never really enjoyed Panda Express but today my baby didn't like it either because I had major cramping. They say the braxton hicks contractions will come sooner... I am already having back and tailbone pain and that didn't happen to me with either girl til the very very end of pregnancy. I had an OB appointment this week and the NP told me that if what they say about heartbeats is true (meaning the heartbeat is slower) we are having a boy.
15 weeks: Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple).

    A boy would be nice because you guys already have 2 girls, but heartbeats mean nothing - both Brandon & Dallin were in the 150-160's & all 3 of the girls were 130-140's w/an occassional spike... I was always told higher beats=girl, lower beats=boy. I think it's all individual.

    don't worry everyone... I know that the heartbeat thing isn't a DEFINITE thing. I just wanted to document it.

    Either way is great!! We are excited for you, and if it is a boy, all I can say is that boys are such fun!!!

20 Weeks

Today we had the opportunity to go in for our 20 week ultrasound. We are excited to announce that baby #3 is a healthy BOY! We are excited but have to admit we are a bit nervous. Change is hard and after two girls this is definitely a change. It will be a fun and wonderful experience. I have already thought about little boy ACUs and PT clothes (little army clothes) and what I will decorate the "boy" room in etc. I have always heard boys are "easier" but more rambunctious so I guess we will just have to see. I was excited that during the ultrasound our little boy was crossing his legs at the ankle like both his sisters do! So funny! We will keep y'all posted on names and other developments.

Halloween 2023

 We pulled off our best Halloween!  Possibly ever!  Jake had a vision and it came true beautifully.  He even had the cutest song he sang.  I loved our last Halloween in our Hurst home.

sometimes life may get you down

but then you remember how wonderful you husband is and it makes it all ok. Jake surprised me by ordering these gorgeous handmade pearl earrings from TINY STORM for me for Christmas and they were waiting for us with all our mail when we arrived back home after vacation. He got down on one knee and presented me with these earrings and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful, hardworking, and loving husband who is always there to take care of me and love me when I am having a rough time. Thank you Jacob!
