Gratitude Days 21-23

(posting on 2/6/19 from my drafts folder on my blog) I am grateful I had the opportunity to go on a Pioneer Trek with our stake. I am currently the Young Women's president in my ward (church congregation).  That means I am in charge of the young ladies ages 12-18 at church.  I am loving being able to share my testimony of what I know to be true about Jesus Christ with these girls.  I am grateful for trek that gave me a new understanding and love for the pioneers of Mormonism who crossed the USA with handcarts to blaze a new trail for us to worship how we see fit.  I am grateful to be a Mormon.

Gratitude Days 6, 7, 8

Day 6 I am grateful for my health.  I have a healing fractured right arm, hips that aren't perfect since having my four babies, and a left knee I had surgery on when I was 15.  Now I sound like I'm falling apart, but I am not.  I have my health and I have a body that functions and I am grateful! Day 7 I am grateful for a hard working husband.  I find myself in awe that he worked full time, went to school full time, had army duties, church duties, and a family.  I am just a wife, mother, and full time student and school overpowers my mind daily.  I worry I will never get it all done or that I am not learning it well enough.  I think I always appreciated his sacrifices for our family, but more than ever I am feeling the weight of his sacrifices for us. Day 8 I am grateful to live in America.  Today was election day between the two major party candidates of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.  I am shocked that it seems to be close to call ...

Gratitude Day 5

Today I'm grateful for the joy of small town life.  I am grateful my kids got to see a football game from my hometown.  I am grateful that they had fun & cheered for the Pirates. The girls attended a cheer camp put on by Aimi Lark's teacher who is the cheer coach and the high school cheerleaders.  Since they went to this camp they got to participate in the game a bit.  They got to run through the skull tunnel after the football players, do the fight song, and a cheer!  They did great!  Solomon lost his shoe under the bleacher.  He insists on wearing these flip flops that sometimes get away from him when he say walks to fast or goes down stairs or sits in the bleachers with cracks in them.  A perk of hometown life is knowing the teenagers who host things.  These girls hosted the cheer camp and on the left is Sammie one of my young women from church and on the right is Halle, Aunt Delaney's cousin.    Our co...

Gratitude Day 4

I am grateful for Brody and his service to the Air Force and the USA.  Today Brody graduated from his tech school in Wichita Falls, TX. We were supposed to be there, but without orders it was hard to justify two trips in just a couple of days from one another.  I missed Jake's AIT graduation as well.  Brody graduated from training for aircraft hydraulic systems. I am so proud of him!  Way to go, Brody!  Can't wait to see you next week. We are so close to your wedding!  I am so proud of all his hard work. Keep it up, you will do great things!
