Day 6
I am grateful for my health. I have a healing fractured right arm, hips that aren't perfect since having my four babies, and a left knee I had surgery on when I was 15. Now I sound like I'm falling apart, but I am not. I have my health and I have a body that functions and I am grateful!
Day 7
I am grateful for a hard working husband. I find myself in awe that he worked full time, went to school full time, had army duties, church duties, and a family. I am just a wife, mother, and full time student and school overpowers my mind daily. I worry I will never get it all done or that I am not learning it well enough. I think I always appreciated his sacrifices for our family, but more than ever I am feeling the weight of his sacrifices for us.
Day 8
I am grateful to live in America. Today was election day between the two major party candidates of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. I am shocked that it seems to be close to call right now. I am not a fan of either one of them and in fact voted for Jill Stein. I told Jake that Texas would go Trump no matter my vote so I chose to throw my support toward a 3rd party candidate in hopes of giving them more exposure for more options in the future. I know it's a long shot, but I felt better about my choice. This was my post on Facebook yesterday, "My last political thoughts before tomorrow's election. Today, my kids came home and said there would be a mock election tomorrow at school. My 4th grade girls excitedly both said they are voting for Jill Stein, of the Green Party, because she would be the first woman president, she is a doctor, and she cares about the environment. Then, Malachi my 2nd grader said he's voting for Trump because someone told him at recess that Hillary Clinton kills babies. My kindergartner didn't say a word. On one hand I was so proud of my girls and their logic, and on the other hand I want to know what kids are hearing at home when it comes to politics that they shared that with my son? Until today, I didn't speak of this election/politics with my kids. And on that note, I'm excited to see how the Oak Forest Elementary election turns out..."
Well I guess tomorrow we can see who is elected.
Tonight, I will work on homework.
We have a wedding this week!
